Last weekend I had the privilege of attending the 20th Annual Native American Film Festival of the Southeast at the South Carolina Museum of Art.  This was the first time I have ever attended the film festival and I am so glad that I did. I am a huge advocate for art education and I was educated by these films that were shown.

The first film shown as the festival was called "More Than A Word". This film was all about the racial slurs used within the community and how the Native American culture is portrayed and made fun of in society. They mostly referred to mascots for sports teams. This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the ballet Dracula: Ballet With a Bite at the Koger Center for the Performing Arts. This was the first time since I was little that I was able to see Columbia City Ballet's annual production. This is by far one of the most entertaining ballets out there. This production was so spooky but also kept the audience laughing at times. It was a wonderful night at the ballet and I can't wait to attend again next year.
