Last weekend I had the privilege of attending the 20th Annual Native American Film Festival of the Southeast at the South Carolina Museum of Art.  This was the first time I have ever attended the film festival and I am so glad that I did. I am a huge advocate for art education and I was educated by these films that were shown.

The first film shown as the festival was called "More Than A Word". This film was all about the racial slurs used within the community and how the Native American culture is portrayed and made fun of in society. They mostly referred to mascots for sports teams.
